Bead Sources
You may now purchase a kit from my Etsy shop with enough of these beads to make at least 1 bracelet. The pattern is available for purchase from Interweave online purchase here.
For those looking to purchase the EXACT beads used in the bracelet pattern published in Step by Step Beads March/April 2009 issue, here is the best information I have: (updated 12/30/2009) Bead colors offered by manufacturers change, as do the color designations. Different vendors sometimes use their own number system. And, as in fabric dye-lots, the ordering the bead by number sometimes does not get you the same color.

15/0 Round Green/Gold/Violet MR (Miyuki 15-465) from Bello Modo (www.bellomodo.com) NOTE: This color number has now changed to #1961.

11/0 Delicas (DB-0027)– Metallic Green Iris or color closely matching the size 15s. These came from an inherited, unmarked stash of Delicas I’ve had for years. The closest Delica color I’ve found online is Bronzy Green DB127 at www.BelloModo.com . DB022 and DB024 are also very close.

11/0 Hex Beige-lined transparent. A tube marked HX 375 was purchased in Chicago several years ago. A nearly exact match is Toho Hex 11/0 Sand/Crystal ICL (#369) from www.BelloModo.com This bead is very difficult to find - out of stock.

8/0 Hex Olivine Iris was found in a local bead shop. A similar bead is 8/0 Hex 356H Watercress – Janes Fiber & Beads – www.janesfiberandbeads.com
I finally have come up with a kit to make it easier to find the beads to recreate this bracelet. The pattern, published in Step by Step Beads in the Mar/Apr 2009 issue, is available for online purchase here.
The main thing to create the scalloped shape is for the bead sizes to gradually increase from color A (15/0) to color D (8/0 hex) and to maintain an even tension, tightening as you go, especially as you go back from size 8/0 hex into the size 15/0 sections.

Peacock Peyote Bracelet
Thanks to all who attended my Peacock Peyote class. Since my handouts were not in color, I've posted the repeated pattern here for your convenience. (Click on the image to enlarge for closeup view. You should be able to print this to your own printer.)
Instructions to use the same Peacock Peyote pattern for a necklace are available in my Etsy shop for $15. The pattern includes detailed instructions for stitching a beaded toggle closure.
The class was sponsored by the Bead Society of Greater Kansas City which promotes interest, awareness knowledge and study of all things beady. Join us!
